De vez en cuando me llegan noticias de un trabajo académico, investigación o incluso producto industrial que “traduce” la lengua de signos. Es un tema vistoso e interesante, por lo que estos proyectos suelen tener cierto eco en medios y redes sociales, y algún amigo o familiar que sabe que investigo en ese tema me lo hace llegar.
Casi sin excepción, estos trabajos presentan un mismo problema: no ser conscientes de la realidad de la lengua de signos como idioma independiente y con todas las características de uno.

Parametric dictionary of Spanish Sign Language that allows searching for signs by their phonological features, in order to find their translation to spanish.
“Signotator” is a React component for the visual transcription of Spanish Sign Language (LSE). The input process is parametric, following phonological principles of LSE, but is intuitive, visual, and independent of spoken language.
